Holy Cow, Wisconsin 3X's in one year.

So we decided to head back up to Wisconsin for the closing this year. Typically I only go up in the summer so I can fish and swim, but considering the free time I've been faced with lately another trip couldn't hurt anything. So Carrie, my Mom, Grandpa, and I drove up on the 17th to wonderful weather, highs in the upper 50's. The first night was really cold though, down into the mid 30's. The cabin has a furnace and big fireplace we kept busy, but Carrie's and I bed was on the screened porch which is uninsulated and the same temp as outside. Needless to say it was chilly the first night.
Each morning we ate at one of the best breakfast joints EVER, Wendy's in Minong. Gramps was always ready for breakfast!
The first day Carrie did some firewood stacking and proved once again strength can come in Fun Size packages ( we won't mention how sore she was the next day).
We took one last boat ride to use up some gas from our summer trips. It was a little on the chilly side.
So what do we do for fun when we can't swim or lay out on the dock (and be warmed by the sun)...we fire up the riding lawn mower and toss a kid (Carrie being the smallest would have to do) into the utility trailer and ride around at dangerous speeds approaching 3mph!!!
Just look at the excitement on her face!
Master wood chopper at work
Relaxing in front of the fireplace
Eating some fantastic ribs at the Golden Chipmunk
All in all it was a nice trip. We got lots of work done and had some relaxing time too. The food, oh the food, is always hard to leave.

What's next? Well, I've got an offer to go fishing in Florida from my uncle Randy. May have to take him up on that one. Carrie and I leave for Aruba the second week of December, then down to Texas the day after Christmas. A quick trip out west for some mountain biking has crossed my mind a few times too. If I didn't have to drive across the plains I would leave tomorrow, but that stinkin 14hrs back into Colorado is hard on me.
