Have you ever really stopped and thought about this? How can it be that every one's lives are so ridiculously busy these days, that we don't even have time to talk to family/friends, go for walks, fix a nice dinner, take a nap, enjoy life? Has it always been this way, or have we evolved into this lifestyle over the years? It seems like every time I try to arrange a dinner, party, shopping trip, whatever it may be, I get the typical response about having something going on, or "I'll have to see, things are just so crazy right now." I don't think our fore fathers had this problem. Life had to be more simple 'back in the days'. Are we going to look back on our lives at one point and think, "gosh, I never really stopped to enjoy life like I should have?"
I've had a ton of people ask me how I've lost my weight and the first thing I like to say is "I made it my priority in life." Which means, I left work and went straight to the gym or the mountain bike trail. I didn't run errands, I didn't rest for a bit, I put my health first. After all, we only have one body right?
So what happens when you live this crazy lifestyle where you are constantly on the go giving yourself no time to 'stop and smell the flowers?' Will you be the one to look back on your life and wish you would've lived a bit differently? Do you want to take that risk? What if you die at age 50? On your death bed would you be sad that you didn't live your life to the fullest? Why wait for retirement to relax and enjoy life, after all there are no guarantees that you will make it to that point in your life. Right? What are you waiting for?
